Why UKAS Accreditation Matters

Many UK slip testing providers are not UKAS accredited. When a slip claim reaches insurers, loss adjusters or court, the difference between accredited and non-accredited reports is significant.

What UKAS ISO 17025 Means

UKAS (the United Kingdom Accreditation Service) is the sole national accreditation body recognised by the British Government. ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for testing laboratories, covering technical competence, equipment calibration, and the validity of test results.

An accredited report carries weight that a non-accredited report simply does not.

Where It Matters Most

  • Slip and fall claims defended on behalf of property owners
  • Pre-litigation reports commissioned by claimant solicitors
  • Compliance verification for new-build floors under BS 8204
  • Insurer-mandated risk assessments for retail, hospitality and leisure
  • Local authority and public sector contract requirements
Worth knowing: Surface Performance Ltd, the parent company behind Slip Testing Bristol, holds UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for slip resistance testing. We operate across the South West from a regional engineering base, with full national coverage available.
